Boys and girls cross country: Owen J. Roberts dominates Harrier Invitational behind Fennell, Zubey

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Senior Vincent Fennell of Owen J. Roberts earned first place in the 2-mile Harrier Invitational boys cross country race at Pottstown Friday as the Wildcats claimed the team title. Other top finishers for the Cats were Matt Muthler (third, 10:33) and Cole Smith (fourth, 10:39).

Also, Pope John Paul II captured sixth place with junior Jack Brosius (11:16) taking sixth individually. For the host Trojans, who were seventh in the team standings, Darius Smallwood led the way with a fifth-place time of 10:41.

 

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

The Owen J. Roberts girls finished second behind Gov. Mifflin at Pottstown High’s Harrier Invitational as OJR freshman Claire Zubey took the race with a time of 11:57 followed by Wildcat teammates Hannah Kopec and Sabryna Collins in fifth and sixth place with respective times of 12:35 and 12:37. Pope John Paul II placed third with Gianna Cagliola, Bella Greco, Katy and Natalie Florig finishing 10th through 13th, respectively.
