Boys soccer: Boyertown rallies for 7th straight win; Owen J. Roberts, Spring-Ford post shutout wins - revised

Boyertown 3, Upper Merion 1 – The Bears shook off a sluggish start with three unanswered goals in a 10-minute span early in the second half en route to their seventh straight triumph Tuesday night.
Matt Selders, Beckett Wenger (assist) and Macade Knoblauch all found the back of the net during the surge for Boyertown, which got 2 helpers from Ryan Goffice and 4 saves from keeper Nick Rothenberger. The host Vikings had carried a 1-0 lead into the break, courtesy of Patrick Thienry’s first-half goal, but the advantage was short-lived.

Owen J. Roberts 3, Pottsgrove 0 – Sophomore Nicky Gambone cashed in a pair of goals, Ethan Williams chipped in with 2 assists and the goalie tandem of Andrew Keddie and Joel Epps combined for the clean sheet with four saves to lead the fast-starting Wildcats to the PAC interdivisional verdict. OJR did all of its offensive damage early with all three of its goals coming in the opening half.
Pottsgrove got a strong performance from keeper AJ Latanze with 12 saves.

Spring-Ford 1, Pope John Paul II 0 – Dylan Smith’s second-half penalty kick and an impressive defensive effort anchored by Eric Moriarity’s four saves were the difference for the Rams in their interdivisional shutout of their neighborhood rivals.

Perkiomen Valley 2, Upper Perkiomen 1 – Sean Schoeniger snapped a 1-1 tie in the 43rd minute by booting home the game-winner to help the Vikings stretch their winning streak to three with the PAC crossover decision.
PV's Owen Slack (PK) and Upper Perk’s Nick Aron (assisted by Anthony Durrant) exchanged goals in the first halt to set the stage for Schoeniger’s heroics.
