Boys soccer: Slack's 2 goals propel Perkiomen Valley; Methacton prevails in 2 OTs behind Stemler

Perkiomen Valley 2, Boyertown 1 – Owen Slack connected for a pair of first-half goals and the Vikings defense made it stand, surviving a late thrust by the Bears in the PAC contest Saturday night.
Slack’s first goal featured a highlight chest to side volley inside the 18 off a Matt Holmes assist, and the encore came when he found the near post from close range to build a 2-0 halftime advantage. Owen Love had the assist on the second goal after receiving a pass in the zone from Steve Warren.
Down 2-0 at the break, the Bears cut the deficit in half when Beckett Wenger found the net with 8 minutes left. But the PV defense, spearheaded by keeper Michael Renner (7 saves), rose to the occasion and locked down the win.

Methacton 2, Upper Perkiomen 1, OT – Quinton Stemler notched a pair of goals, including the game-winner early in the second overtime session to complete the comeback win for the Warriors.
After Cole Kendra put the host Indians up 1-0 with a penalty kick, Stemler took a quick overlap pass from Brayden Ahlum and lofted a shot over the UP keeper to force OT. Stemler’s game-winner came on a hard shot that followed another run upfield.
