Boys soccer: Upper Perkiomen shocks Spring-Ford; Pottsgrove, Owen J. Roberts earn wins

Upper Perkiomen 1, Spring-Ford 0 – The Indians put it all together in pulling off the PAC shocker Tuesday night, riding a stellar defensive effort and capitalizing on a first-half opportunity that turned into the game’s lone goal.
The decisive strike came when Jimmy Friedman took a long throw from Cole Kendra and chipped it into the net.  It was a complete team effort for UP, with keeper Matt Wanamaker posting the clean sheet behind the sturdy back line play of Keaton Furning, Jack Cupitt, Michael Fisher and Dillon Brendle.
Also notable was the physical play in the midfield by Lucas Carpenter, David Schwab, Matteo Schneidt and Kendra.

Pottsgrove 1, Methacton 0 – The Falcons rode a lightning-fast start and shutdown defensive effort to the PAC victory Tuesday.
Troy Watts fueled the quick getaway, finding the back of the net off an assist from Shane Gleason in the opening minute for a 1-0 lead that held up behind a stingy defense anchored by keeper Luke Kaiser, who picked up the clean sheet with four saves.

Owen J. Roberts 4, Perkiomen Valley 2 – Stephen Mullen and PJ DePorry struck for two goals apiece as the Wildcats staved off a late thrust by the Vikings to nail down the PAC decision.
Mullen delivered a cross to DePorry for a goal in the opening minute and later added two strikes and assisted on another DePorry goal in the second half to seal the outcome.
For Perk Valley, Matt Holmes had a goal and assist and Javier Schorle picked up the other goal.
