Hurd lifts Perkiomen Valley by PJP; Methacton sets new program standard

Perkiomen Valley 36, Pope John Paul II 35 – Katie Hurd scored 10 points to key a balanced effort in the Vikings’ narrow PAC crossover win over league playoff qualifier PJP Monday night.
For the Golden Panthers, who face Owen J. Roberts in the quarterfinal round of the PAC Final 6 Thursday (7:30 pm) at Spring-Ford, were led by Elise Sylvester with 11 points and Kallen Bustynowicz with 8.

Methacton 65, Upper Merion 23 – The PAC playoff-bound Warriors knocked down 11 triples and recorded the best regular season record (18-4) in program history with the wire-to-wire crossover romp.
Sydney Tornetta recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds for Methacton, which also got 16 points and five treys from Abby Penjuke and 9 points each from Sydney Hargrove and Tori Bockrath.
No. 3 Methacton draws No. 6 Phoenixville in the PAC quarterfinals Thursday (6 pm) at Spring-Ford.
Isabella Legendre scored a team-high 7 points for the Vikings, who never recovered after falling behind 39-13 at the break.
