Methacton shuts down Pope John Paul II; Spring-Ford, Owen J. Roberts fall

Methacton 63, Pope John Paul II 25 – The Warriors rode a stifling defensive effort and balanced scoring attack to their 10th straight victory in PAC crossover action Friday night..
Methacton held the Golden Panthers to single digits in each quarter, building leads of 22-7, 35-12 and 49-21 through the first three quarters.
Nicole Timko (17 points, 3 treys), Sydney Tornetta (13 points, 5 rebounds) and Sydney Hargrove (13 points) all hit double figures for the Warriors, who also got 6 boards and 7 points from Caroline Pellicano.
Mary Kate Shannon knocked down six triples to finish with a game-high 18 points for PJP.

Garnet Valley 41, Spring-Ford 35 – Lucy Olsen cashed in 12 points and Abbey Boyer added 9 but it wasn’t enough as the Rams fell short in their regular season finale, victimized by a lack of offense at crunch time.
Spring-Ford, the two-time defending PAC champions and top-ranked team in district 1-6A, led 29-28 heading into the fourth quarter but only managed 6 points over the last 8:00 to slip to 19-3 overall.
Garnet Valley’s Liesl Dentinger led all scorers with 20 points.

Downingtown East 54, Owen J. Roberts 49 – The Wildcats were unable to erase a slow start in dropping the nonleague decision to the Cougars (15-6).
OJR fell behind 25-15 in the first half before getting back within 35-32 by the end of the third quarter. But the Cats, who got 15 points from Olivia LeClaire and 11 from Avery White, would get no closer.
Bella Smuda finished with 23 points to pace D-East.
