Regusters, Roye help Pottstown close strong; Pope John Paul II, Cherneskie fall short

Pottstown 14  Academy Park 2 – Da’zah Regusters collected six goals and one assist and Destri Roye added five goals and one helper as the Trojans finished their season with a flourish Thursday – closing out a 5-13 campaign with their fourth straight win.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy 10, Pope John Paul II 9 – Julie Cherneskie cashed in five goals, including all three for PJP in the second half, but it wasn’t enough as the Golden Panthers fell short in their regular season finale.
Cherneskie’s final goal, with 2:39 left in regulation, locked things up at 9 but the Monarchs responded with a goal at the 1:51 mark and held on from there.
PJP (8-10) will compete in the District 1-AA playoffs beginning Tuesday, May 14.
