Spring-Ford freshman Cady Krause notches PAC girls singles championship

 
GRATERFORD – Spring-Ford freshman and No. 3 overall seed Cady Krause posted a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 victory over sophomore teammate (5) Isabel Mejia Saturday at Perkiomen Valley to capture the Pioneer Athletic Conference girls tennis singles championship.
 
Spring-Ford ruled the event with three players in the top three positions, including (8) Riley Burke, who earned the silver with a 6-1, 6-1 conquest of Pope John Paul II’s Veronica Marinari.
 
The top four - Krause, Mejia, Burke, Marinari - all qualified for the District 1 singles championships Sept. 27-28 at the Legacy Tennis Center in Philadelphia.
 
Also advancing was the PAC Tournament’s No. 1 overall seed, Perkiomen Valley’s Nadja Townsend, who came back through the consolation bracket to upend Pottsgrove's Mya Krueger in the fifth place match.
