The week that was: Harvey, a senior setter and four-year starter for the Golden Panthers, showed her versatility Monday (Nov. 2) in the semifinal round of the District 1-3A girls volleyball tournament. Chelsea stuffed the stat sheet with 26 assists, 8 kills and 3 aces as PJP rolled Gwynedd Mercy Academy in straight sets 25-11, 25-17 and 25-17.

She continued her masterful postseason work by accumulating 38 assists Thursday (Nov. 5) to propel the Golden Panthers to their third district title in four years following a 25-21, 25-19, 25-21 sweep of longtime district rival Mount St. Joseph Academy.

Harvey was at the top of the stat sheet with 64 assists, 11 kills, 15 digs and 4 aces in the two district triumphs.

“Chelsea has done a nice job in running our offense throughout this short season,” said PJP coach Ryan Sell, whose club is a perfect 10-0 heading into the state playoffs. “She's able to put our attackers in good situations to be successful.  Chelsea’s a very hard worker, always early to practice to get in some extra reps and always looking for ways to help our team win.”

PJP now moves on to the PIAA Class 3A tournament, hosting District 11 champion Bethlehem Catholic in the quarterfinals Saturday (3 pm) at PJP. Bethlehem Catholic advanced with a 3-0 sweep of (12-1) Cardinal O’Hara.
