Waldman, Richards hurl Boyertown past Norristown

Boyertown 10, Norristown 0, 5 innings – Jared Waldman and Gavin Richards combined on a one-hitter in the PAC Liberty romp for the Bears Thursday, abbreviated to five innings by the 10-run mercy rule.

Waldman got the win, allowing the lone Eagles’ hit while striking out five in four innings, before Richards turned in a perfect fifth.

Offensive for Boyertown, which set the tone by scoring seven runs in the second inning, Chris Davis (2-3), Derrick Basile and Sean Sutterby (two-run home run) drove in two runs apiece.

Elijah Levine had the lone hit for the Eagles, coming off a 2-1 upset of Methacton Wednesday.
