Zollers, Wildcats deliver strong showing at Conestoga Valley; Kakos keys Perkiomen Valley at Hatboro-Horsham

Jason Zollers paced a third-place showing for Owen J. Roberts by capturing the gold medal at 170 with a 6-4 sudden victory over Steven Newell (Dallas) Saturday.
The Wildcats wore out a path to the championship podium, getting second-place finishes from Antonio Petrucelli (138), Cole Meredith (145) and Daniel Mancini (152), a third from Ricky McCutchen (160), a fourth from Connor Quinn (126) and a fifth from David Forrest (113).
OJR had 166 points to finish behind Central Dauphin (197) and Central Mountain (169).
Ralph Wetzel Classic (Hatboro-Horsham)
Perkiomen Valley’s PJ Kakos decisioned Morgan Lofland (Conestoga) 3-1 to notch the gold medal at 113 to highlight the Vikings’ effort at the Ralph Wetzel Classic Saturday.
Placing fifth for PV, which finished ninth in the 28-team field, were Stephen Coleman (120) and Jahir Holmes (285). In the fifth-place finals, Coleman scored a 6-5 OT UTB decision over Simon Kioko (Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) while Holmes pinned Isaac Hanna (Pottsgrove) in 4:32.
Other medalists for the Vikings included Gavin Euker (6th, 220), Willie Mathis,(7th, 195, 3:45 pin of CB East’s Ben Eckley), Cody Jefferies (8th, 132) and Jakob Sterling (8th, 182).
Pottsgrove placed 12th at Hatboro-Horsham behind Chase Banyai (2nd, 132), Charles Sithens (4th, 120), Skylar McLeod (4th, 220), Stephen Hennelly (6th, 152) and Isaac Hanna (6th, 220).
Downingtown East captured the team title with 175 points, followed by Hatboro-Horsham (136), William Tennent (126.5), Avon Grove (124) and Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (119).
